It was 55 degrees and their pool was 85 degrees.... Even though there was a chill in the air at some points, the kids got to enjoy the pool.
The hosts David and Jane are just the best people you can meet. They would do anything to accommodate your needs.
The lobster delivery service was AWESOME!!! We really all got a kick out of that.
I grew up here....all my family and myself. My grandparents passed away James and Dot Strahan (C-2), I had the best memories at this camp ground and surrounding towns and beaches, yard sales and flee markets! I would DEFINITELY recommend and suggest this camp ground to anyone! Thank you Apple
I don’t know how the previous person wrote a one star review. This place is amazing. The manager is super nice. The campsites are clean. There are even movies to borrow for free. I love this place!
Two of the toilets in the women's bathroom were unusable for the majority of the first day there. Fecal matter down the front and all over the seat. Puddles of water to dodge upon entering the restroom as well. Was too worried about being kicked out of campground to inform staff of problems.
We used our travel trailer for the first time Memorial Day Weekend. We booked Red Apple and based this on some google reviews.
Parked our vehicle and walked inside the check in office facing the road. Was immediately welcomed by a rude greeting of, "You walked in through the back way? There's a front door for a reason."
We were 3 miles from downtown shopping and 4 miles from the ocean,
Very peaceful and quiet campground. Spacious sites and unbelievably clean and well maintained facilities.
Emergency came up and ended up not being able to stay the second night as planned. Went to inform front desk and was ridiculed and belittled in front of several people. Told once again I was unable to get a refund because she had turned down over 500 applicants earlier. Let feeling shamed and embarrassed for situations out of my control. Was also packed up and gone by 10 from the site despite having paid an additional $55 for a second night.
Some positive thoughts -
The bathrooms were by far the cleanest facilities we have seen at a campground EVER.
Sadly I had already paid ahead and reserved the spot months ahead of time and the employee wouldn't refund the money. Otherwise, I would have gone to another site. Found out later that the staff member who greeted us upon our arrival was the owner of the campsite. Not impressed. Poor manners over all. Clearly it's all about making a quick buck and not about the individuals staying at site.
We LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!! Dave and Jane were so attentive and helpful to us. They treated our boys like family. The small touches such as the candy dish, free hot cocoa, rec hall with lots of books, games, air hockey, etc. were great.
There were no extra costs, except if you wanted to play pool and that minimal cost ($1) went to charity. Everyone that we met was very friendly and all were repeat business . We were so fortunate to have had such a positive experience as our first trip with the trailer. We look forward to coming next year.
Overall, I would highly not recommend Red Apple Campground. There's nothing 10/10*/10 about the site. Very disappointed.
I would highly recommend this campground!
